Purpose:
•  Responsible for all or most Design and Development Engineering activities without major emphasis in any one functional area.
•  Lead a Manufacturing R&D organization to design and deliver consumables and key components from concept to commercialization using the TFE offering development process

•  Deliver optimized manufacturing processes to achieve the quality, manufacturing yield, cost and reliability targets.

•  Lead a diverse group of R&D personnel (112 people) in technology, design and development and develop people to maximize their potential for innovation and achieve business results.  


Scope:
Specific:
•  Works on complex issues, ensures budgets and schedules meet requirements and undertakes actions which impact business goals and objectives

•  Annual budget of $20M for R&D incl. NBC funding (112 scientists, engineers, technicians and materials expenses).  Capital expenses are separate.  This team supports $500M Cost of Production of consumables global manufacturing for new product delivery and productivity.  

•   Manages team of 30 direct reports and 112 employees overall


Primary Responsibilities:

•  Lead and bring innovation into the new technology development team.

•  Innovate and build Intellectual Property (IP).  

•  Lead a diverse group of R&D personnel (112 people).

•  Lead and influence cross-functional teams.

•  Achieve productivity targets for consumables manufacturing.

•  Manage with global economic insight.

•  Manage and lead building relationships and partnerships with various universities.
